Dear all,
Our New year Celebration was so great! Thanks for all participated in the full energy driven event. Initially I would like to tell about the dance performance of Sunanda Nair and Team. They were professional dancers and it was wonderful. San Antonio Malayalee Community also performed in the event which was full of fun like Skit, Dance and Mono Act. Thundering dance of our small kids and youth shows our talent! Thanks for all the participants.
The American Grill was so tasty. SUMA ordered Grill for 100 people plus Indian food including vegetarian for 35 people as we expected only 120 on the basis of last year head count. The final result ended up in few people's fasting! Not kidding. Paid for dinner... but no food. But they cooperated very much till the last minute of packing.
The most interesting event was the Auction! The competition was interesting and finally the auction amount shot up to $1652/- Jermy Panikker, a new resident of San Antonio won the Samsung Tablet!
Benny Uncle, Dr. Jose Thayil, David Uncle, Dr. Raju, Stephen Mattatthil and many others participated in the auction. We, the executive team salutes them!
Vinu Jose Mavely and Jisna Saji performed as the best MCs. Sreeranjini's instant speech was an eye opener for the community. Arathy Karakattu also did a Malayalam speech. Stephen Mattathil introduced new SUMA team. And thanks to Celina Stephen for helping us to book the venue.
In between there was a presentation done by myself. It was on New Year Agenda setting.
Of course few snags had bitten our community.
If we loved to be assembled together as a big community, there would have been more people!
When we say it full of pride, it would be like this. "A New year with all our people, full of malayalees!"
However, in a pessimist's mind their is another way for saying the same thing: "still....we are malayaleesss...."
I am serious.
If we need to keep our tradition and accomplish something for our next generation in USA, we need to come together.
Forget. Let it go off. SUMA is working hard for making more program this year!
Come. Join together. Enjoy. Build the community. SUMA EC will be with you.
And by the by we had booked the venue for Onam and the celebrations will be on 2013 September 14th.
The success of the program was due to the wonderful work of Mr. Milton Paduthuruthy and Wilson Oomman. Thanks for a wonderful team. Please click the bottom to see the photos.

President, SUMA
